Viva Pataca was trained by John Moore in Hong Kong. Viva Pataca won the Champion Stayer in the 2005/06 season and the Champion Middle-Distance Horse in the 2006/07 season. From 2007 to 2009 seasons, Viva Pataca also won the Champion Middle-Distance Horse and the Champion Stayer. In the 2008/09 season, Viva Pataca eventually crowned as the Horse of the Year and won two international G1 races throughout the career.
